CARES Foundation, Inc. is a tax exempt, non-profit, educational 501c(3) organization. Its purpose is to educate the public and physicians about all forms of Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia, its symptoms, diagnostic protocols, treatment, genetic frequency, the necessity for early intervention and benefits of newborn screening.

There are 29 genetic disorders, including CAH, for which the American College of Medical Genetics (ACMG) recommends nationwide newborn screening. All 29 disorders are treatable, but if not detected early, can result in death or lifelong disabilities.

Dear Friends,
I hope this letter finds you all well an enjoying the first bit of fall. The tragedy in the Southeast has had a sobering effect on all our lives, reminding us to be thankful for all we have, including each other.
Many of you have contacted us regarding Katrina and we are impressed by your willingness to help. We have been in contact with our member families in the affected area, and most of those we talked to are ok. I am particularly concerned about the families we were unable to reach and ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers. More....
